DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team hosts University of Rhode Island Saturday, Feb. 26 at 2 p.m. with the Atlantic 10 regular season championship on the line. After the game, there will be a Senior Day ceremony recognizing the five senior student-athletes.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton heads into the season finale a half game ahead of Rhode Island at 13-1 in A-10 play and 22-4 overall on the season. The Flyers have won three in a row and are 9-2 at home this season.
Head coach 
Shauna Green is in her sixth season in charge of the Flyers and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year 2020, her second time at UD. She ranks second all-time in program history in career wins.
As a team this year, Dayton is averaging 66.5 points per game and holding opponents to just 55.0 points per game for a +11.5 differential. The Flyers are shooting 40.4 percent overall, 34.1 percent from three point range, and 66.7 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from +7.1 rebounding and +1.4 turnover margins.
Dayton is led by sophomore 
Makira Cook with 15.1 points per game while graduate students 
Erin Whalen and 
Jenna Giacone are adding 13.2 points and 12.7 points per game respectively. Whalen is just seven points shy of 1,000 in her Dayton career while Giacone is three shy of 900 career points.
SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND
Rhode Island comes to Dayton sitting in second place in the conference standings at 12-1 on the season and also has an overall record of 22-4. The Rams are 9-2 on the road this season and have won two straight since falling to the Flyers on Feb. 16.
Head coach Tammi Reiss is in her second season at the helm of the Rams.
This season, URI is scoring 65.1 points each outing and allowing just 52.2 points to opposing squads. The Rams are shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 34.3 percent from behind the arc, and 66.2 percent from the charity stripe. Rhode Island has a +8.4 rebounding margin.
Leading the way for the Rams is Emmanuelle Tahane, who is averaging 13.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game, and Dez Elmore, who is chipping in 12.4 points and 8.4 boards per contest.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton finished up its three-game road stretch with a 59-43 win at Saint Joseph's Wednesday night. The Flyers had a game-high 19 points from 
Makira Cook and 12 points each from 
Jenna Giacone and 
Erin Whalen.
Rhode Island won its second straight with a 67-54 victory at home to St. Bonaventure Wednesday night. Despite trailing early, the Rams dominated the second half and cruised to a double-digit win.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Rhode Island have played 30 times previously with the Flyers winning 26 times and 18 games in a row dating back to 2004. UD won the match-up earlier this year at Rhode Island, 47-37.
STATISTICAL RANKINGS
Dayton ranks 10th in the country in defensive rebounds per game and 11th in field goal percentage defense. The Flyers are also 19th in rebounds per game and 20th in turnovers per game. Individually, 
Araion Bradshaw is ninth in the nation in assist to turnover ratio while 
Tenin Magassa is 28th in blocks.
