Women's Tennis Falls To Ball State In Friday Afternoon Contest

Flyers Will Take On Ohio Northern On Sunday At 11 A.M.

MIAMISBURG, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's tennis team fell at home to Ball State on Friday afternoon 7-0 in the first of two matches this weekend for the Flyers. Dayton grabbed a win in No. 1 doubles in the loss to the Cardinals.

The Flyers fall to 5-5 on the season, while Ball State improves to 5-2 in 2022. Junior Erica Wojcikiewicz and freshman Laura Greb opened the match by taking the first set of the day in doubles play. The pair took down Emma Peeler and Livia Lukacs 6-1 in the top doubles flight.

Wojcikiewicz won her team-leading eighth doubles match of the season and is now 6-3 in doubles during dual match play on the campaign. Greb won her sixth doubles match of the year, which ties her with freshman Neena Katauskas for second on the team.

Ball State would take the other two doubles sets to take a 1-0 lead into singles play. The Flyers failed to take a point from the Cardinals in singles play, dropping the six singles flights to Ball State to fall in the match 7-0.

Dayton will remain home for a contest on Sunday against Ohio Northern. That match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. at South Regency Tennis Center in Miamisburg.
