PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The University of Dayton women's tennis team picked up their first win in conference play on Saturday, beating St. Bonaventure 4-3 at Alpha Tennis & Fitness of Pittsburgh. Sophomore
Sarah DeMarco clinched the match for the Flyers, winning the final match of the day in three sets.

The Flyers improve to 8-8 on the season, and 1-2 against A-10 opponents. St. Bonaventure falls to 4-12, 0-3 in conference play.

Dayton opened the match with a crucial win in doubles play in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. Juniors
Elizabeth Hamilton and
Paige Kompa beat Alexandra Jansson and Emily Stanley 6-2 in the second doubles flight, and freshman
Neena Katauskas and sophomore
Sarah DeMarco picked up a win in No. 3 doubles 6-1 over Paula Velilla and Amelia Haley.

In singles play, the Flyers took the three sets needed to pick up the victory. Katauskas got the first point for Dayton in No. 3 singles, winning 7-6, 6-4 over Floor Lissone for her third singles win in conference play this season and her team-leading 11
th singles win overall.

Freshman
Laura Greb got the win in No. 5 singles over Emily Stanley 6-2, 6-0, reaching double-digit wins in singles play as well, and DeMarco clinched the win for the Flyers with a three-set win over Paula Velilla after dropping the first set. DeMarco battled back to win the final two frames for a 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 win.

Dayton will return tomorrow to play Duquesne at 1 p.m. at Alpha Tennis & Fitness of Pittsburgh.
