DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will play host to Purdue Fort Wayne Wednesday for a mid-week doubleheader. First pitch between the Flyers and Mastodons is set for 3 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free.

SCOUTING PURDUE FORT WAYNE
Purdue Fort Wayne (7-34) is currently suffering a four-game losing skid and is coming off three losses at Horizon League foe Robert Morris this past weekend. The Mastodons' offense is led by Sonia Solis with a .275 average and a team-best 21RBI while Emma McMillan (.263) has collected a team-high 31 hits. In the circle, Lauren McConnell carries the team's low ERA of 4.49 over 57.2 innings of work and Shaina Erye has tallied a team-high 55 strikeouts.

Kelsey Gumm (8-7) paces the Flyer pitching corps with her league-leading 1.92 ERA over 94.2 innings pitched and she has tallied 89 strikeouts.

Dayton picked up its fourth Atlantic 10 series win of the season with a 2-1 weekend at Saint Louis April 15-16. UD split its Friday doubleheader with SLU, W, 1-0 (8) and L, 4-2, and claimed a 4-3 win Saturday. Schutter earned her third A-10 Rookie of the Week honor for her work at Saint Louis after posting a .455 average and .727 slugging percentage for the weekend.
