Box Score ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Dayton men's tennis team advanced to the Atlantic 10 semifinals for the sixth straight season, taking down Saint Louis 4-0 on Friday afternoon at USTA National Campus in Orlando. The win sets up a match with the No. 2 seed Saint Joseph's Saturday at 10 a.m.
The Flyers have advanced to the semifinals every year there has been a tournament since 2016 and are now 15-7 in 2022. It also marks the second-consecutive season Dayton has knocked Saint Louis out of the A-10 Championship. The Billikens end their season at 8-13.
Dayton opened the afternoon by taking the doubles point. Senior

Connor Bruce defeated Adam Behun and Elliott Ekindi 6-1 in the top doubles flight. The Billikens won on Court Three, but senior
Steven Karl and junior
Matt DeMarco clinched the point for the Flyers, taking down Theo Ortis and Ryota Fukushima 6-3 in No. 2 doubles.
The Flyers won every possible set in singles play, with each of the six first sets going to Dayton. Freshman
Eric Perkowski made it 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-4 win on Court Five, winning his 16
th singles match of the season and tying him with Bruce and sophomore
Ronit Hiryur for the most on the Flyers.
Karl extended the lead to 3-0 in No. 6 singles, taking a straight-set victory over Pavel Badaints 6-2, 6-2. It marked the 67
th career singles win for Karl, moving him into a tie with Jonathan Khoury for seventh in program history.
Matt DeMarco clinched the match for the Flyers soon after, defeating Adam Behun 6-4, 6-2 in the fourth singles flight to send Dayton into the next round. It is DeMarco's 12
th singles win of the season, and tenth dual match win.
The Flyers will look to advance to the A-10 Finals for the first time since 2018 against the Hawks. The match will have both live stats and live court feeds available for fans not in Orlando.
