George Washington 9-1 on Friday afternoon. Senior
Marcos Pujols picked up a pair of base hits in the loss for the Flyers.

Jose Martinez drove in Dayton's lone run of the game in the ninth inning with an RBI double, and freshman
Mason Dobie reached base for the 10
th straight game.

The Flyers fall to 11-14 and 1-3 in A-10 play with the loss while
George Washington improves to 16-14, 4-0 against conference opponents.

ON THE MOUND
Junior
Ryan Steinhauer got the start for the Flyers, giving up five earned runs in 4.1 innings on the mound, striking out six Colonials on the day. Steinhauer leads the team with 39 strikeouts this season. Sophomore
Austin Brush entered for Steinhauer in the fifth, going the next two innings and giving up one run on one hit.

Thomas Braybrooks went the rest of the way for the Flyers, striking out three in 1.2 innings and giving up the final two runs of the game.

SCORING PLAYS
Bottom 1: (3-0 Colonials)
George Washington picked up a few runs on Steinhauer in the first inning, starting the game with a base hit up the middle. After a wild pitch moved the runner to second a groundout to Steinhauer put a runner on third. Back-to-back walks loaded the bases and a wild pitch brought home the first run of the game. Another base hit made it 2-0 and another wild pitch extended the deficit to three runs.

A triple started the inning and an error by junior
Keagan Calero made it 4-0.

Bottom 5: (6-0 Colonials)
Steinhauer opened the inning with a groundout before he gave up just his second home run in his seventh start. A double down the left field line and a base hit put runners on the corners and a groundout to junior
Omar Daniels brought the sixth run of the game in.

A hit by pitch and a hit and run put runners on the corners and a balk by Brush made it 7-0.

Bottom 8: (9-0 Colonials)
A base hit and a walk put two on before Braybrooks retired the next two batters. A double down the left field line made it 8-0 and an infield single brought in the final run for the Colonials.

Top 9: (9-1 Colonials)
Graduate student
Alexis Castillo drew a one-out walk and two batters later Martinez doubled to left field to score Castillo and finalize the score.
