ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The University of Dayton baseball team took down St. Bonaventure 11-4 in the series finale at Fred Handler Park on Sunday. Senior
Marcos Pujols hit his tenth home run of the season and drove in five RBIs for the Flyers in the win.

Pujols finished the day 3-for-4, also scoring three runs in the victory. Senior
Jay Curtis also picked up three hits, driving in two runs on the day. Junior
Omar Daniels also picked up two hits, including a double for Dayton.

The win brings the Flyers to 19-24 on the year, 7-11 in Atlantic 10 play. St. Bonaventure falls to 5-32, 3-15 against conference opponents.

ON THE MOUND
Graduate student
Kenny Serwa started the game for the Flyers, going the first 6.1 innings on the mound, allowing four runs on 11 hits, picking up eight strikeouts in his third win of the season. Serwa did not allow a run until the fourth inning and pitched into the seventh for the second time in his last four starts before giving way to sophomore
Austin Brush.

Brush pitched the next two innings striking out three without allowing a hit. He retired the first batter in the ninth inning before sophomore
Eli Majick relieved him. Majick retired the only two batters he faced, finishing the win for the Flyers.

Top 3: (5-0 Flyers)
Daniels hit a one-out double to right center and junior
Keagan Calero drew a walk to put two on. Pujols brought home his first runs of the game with a double to left center, putting Dayton up 2-0. Graduate student
Henry Strmecki walked to put two more on and Curtis doubled to extend the lead to four. Curtis would advance to third on an error on a pickoff and would score on a line out by junior
Jose Martinez.

Senior
Jake Silverstein reached on a bunt single to lead off the fourth and two batters later Calero singled through the left side to put two on for Pujols, who hit his tenth home run of the season out to right, putting the Flyers up 8-0.

Bottom 4: (8-2 Flyers)
A leadoff double followed by a single through the left side put runners on the corners. A groundout brought the first run home and a base hit through the right side cut the lead to 8-2.

Top 5: (9-2 Flyers)
Freshman
Matt Maloney led off the inning with a base hit to right and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Silverstein. Daniels advanced him to third with a fly out to center field and Maloney scored on a passed ball.

Bottom 5: (9-3 Flyers)
Serwa retired the first two batters of the inning before back-to-back singles and a double down the left field line cut the lead to six.

Top 6: (10-3 Flyers)
Strmecki was hit by a pitch with one out and Curtis moved him to second with a fielder's choice and Strmecki would get to third on an error. Redshirt junior
Alex Neff would bring home the team's tenth run with a fielder's choice of his own.

Bottom 7: (10-4 Flyers)
Serwa struck out the first batter of the inning, but back-to-back singles put two on. A wild pitch put both runners in scoring position and a groundout brought home St. Bonaventure's fourth run of the game.

Top 8: (11-4 Flyers)
Pujols hit a one-out single to left field and would move to second on a base hit by Strmecki. Curtis would reach on a fielder's choice, moving Pujols to third. Neff walked to load the bases and Martinez would walk as well to finalize the score at 11-4.
