DAYTON – University of Dayton softball head coach
Cara LaPlaca has announced the addition of Fairborn native Brittany Duncan to her staff for the 2023 season.
"Adding a coach with the experience and success that Brittany brings to UD is truly an honor," commented coach LaPlaca. "It is clear she possesses the skills and intangibles that will seamlessly blend with our current staff. Our team is eager to welcome coach Duncan and her family to our program."
Duncan comes to Dayton after five seasons as an assistant coach for the Northern Kentucky Norse. She focused on offensive coordination and served as the director of operations. Duncan helped lead the Norse to a 27-win season and a third-place finish at the 2022 Horizon League Championship this past season.
A 2015 graduate of University of Louisville, Duncan helped lead the Cardinals to back-to-back appearances NCAA Tournament regional appearances. She spent her first two collegiate seasons a Valparaiso, and earned NFCA All-Midwest Second Team honors and was named the Horizon League's Newcomer of the Year in 2012.
Duncan will primarily be responsible for leading the offense and will also serve as recruiting coordinator and academic liaison for the team.

The Flyers are welcoming five newcomers to the team for the 2023 season, a squad that posted a 20+-win season in 2022 and battled to a third-place finish at the 2022 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.
