CINCINNATI - The University of Dayton volleyball team opened the 2022 season with a 3-1 (20-25, 25-21, 26-24, 25-18) win at Cincinnati Friday night. The match was labeled Tribute to #10 in honor of former volleyball student-athlete and coach Stephanie Meinig-Rosfeld who passed away in 2004.
Dayton will head into Saturday's matches with a 1-0 mark while Cincinnati moves to 0-2.

Taylor Russell led all attackers with 17 kills while also serving up a match-high three aces to go with six digs in her Flyer debut
29 & 14 - junior
Livie Sandt recorded the match's only double-double with 29 assists and a team-high 14 digs
11.0 - as a team, the Flyers tallied 11.0 blocks led by junior
Amelia Moore with six and senior
Grace Dynda with a career-high five
500 CAREER WINS
With Friday's win, Dayton head coach
Tim Horsmon has tallied 500 career wins. In his 24th season as a head coach, Horsmon has also held head coaching positions at Robert Morris and Maryland.
UP NEXT
UD is set to play two matches Saturday as part of Cincinnati's Tribute to #10 tournament. Dayton will start the day with a 12 p.m. match-up against RV Florida State and will close the weekend with a match against Illinois State at 6:30 p.m. All matches are played at Fifth Third Arena and admission is free.
