DAYTON - The University of Dayton volleyball team is headed to Atlanta for the 2022 Georgia Tech Invitational Sept. 2-3. Dayton is set to square off against Arizona State, Florida International and host fifth-ranked Georgia Tech at the Yellow Jackets' O'Keefe Gymnasium.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (2-1) opened the season at Cincinnati's Tribute to #10 Tournament Aug. 26-27, picking up wins over Illinois State and host Cincinnati and dropping a 3-1 decision to RV Florida State. Junior middle blocker Amelia Moore was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week Monday after averaging 2.23 kills/set, 1.23 blocks/set and 3.12 points/set over the weekend. Freshman Taylor Russell leads the Flyer attack with 2.92 kills/set while Moore is the team's top blocker. Junior Livie Sandt is the squad's primary setter with 6.85 assists/set and sophomore Anna Wuensch passes a team-best 2.54 digs/set.

SCOUTING ARIZONA STATE
Arizona State (2-1) got its 2022 season underway at home Aug. 26-27 with the Webb-Burbridge Classic. The Sun Devils won back-to-back matches on Friday over CSU Bakersfield and Northern Iowa before falling to Toledo on Saturday. Webb-Burbridge Classic All-Tournament Team honoree Marta Levinska led the team with 41 total kills over the team's first three matches while Claire Jeter was tough at the net averaging 1.27 blocks/set for the Sun Devils.

SCOUTING No. 5 GEORGIA TECH
Fifth-ranked Georgia Tech (2-0) picked up wins over Ole Miss and No. 19 Illinois during opening weekend at the Ole Miss Invitational. Tournament MVP Julia Bergmann currently leads the nation with 6.43 kills/set and 7.21 points/set and All-Tournament Team honoree Breland Morrissette led the team with 1.43 blocks/set. The Yellow Jackets have won 35 of their last 40 matches at home in O'Keefe Gymnasium.

SCOUTING FIU
FIU (0-3) had a tough opening weekend at the Oklahoma Invitational, dropping contests to Iowa, Gonzaga and host Oklahoma. Athina Dimitriadis leads the Panthers' offense with 3.18 kills/set and a .385 hitting percentage and Sarah Nading directs the team's offense with 8.18 assists/set. On defense, Katie Turner gets under a team best 4.45 digs/set and Dimitriadis collects 1.55 blocks/set for FIU.
