DAYTON - The 17
th-ranked University of Dayton men's soccer team defended its home field in a 2-0 victory over Eastern Illinois University Tuesday night at Baujan Field.
The Flyers (5-0-0) head into Atlantic 10 play with an unbeaten record while the Panthers (1-3-1) drop their third game.
KEY MOMENT
- 2nd half – Dayton dominated the second 45 minutes with 31 shots to EIU's two attempts and scored both of its goals.

- Dayton outshot EIU 20-0 in the first half alone. The Flyers went on to out-shot the Panthers 51-2.
- The Flyers moved up in the United Soccer Coaches poll just before the game from No. 18 in the nation to No. 17.

- Goalkeeper Dario Caetano recorded his third shutout of the season.
- Ajago and Sanchez both scored to stay tied for the team-lead with four goals each. That ranks them tied for 12th in the nation individually.
COACH'S COMMENTS
"It was a frustrating night having 51 shots and only scoring two goals," said head coach
Dennis Currier. "Our overall accuracy was just off tonight. I have to give a lot of credit to EIU's goalkeeper as well coming up with 13 saves. Ultimately, we found a way to win and will continue to work on improving this week in training for the start of our conference play."
