Women's Soccer Wins Seventh Straight Match Sunday

Flyers Down Minutewomen, Remain Unbeaten In A-10 Play

AMHERST, MASS – The University of Dayton women's soccer team was in action Sunday afternoon, as they battled against the Massachusetts Minutewomen, looking for their seventh consecutive victory. The Flyers would get an early goal from Laney Huber in the seventh minute, and an insurance goal from Itala Gemelli to earn them a 2-1 victory.
 
The victory for the Flyers Sunday brings their overall record to 10-1-1 on the season, and 4-0 now in Atlantic 10 play.
 
KEY MOMENT
After Laney Huber opened the match in the seventh minute with her second of the season, Dayton would add a second goal before the halftime whistle off the foot of Itala Gemelli to lead 2-0 heading into the locker room. The Flyers defense, who hadn't surrendered a goal in over 400 minutes of action entering the second half, allowed their first goal since September 8 in the 49th minute from the foot of Ashley Lamond.
