FAIRBORN, Ohio – The University of Dayton men's cross country team began the 2022 season with a second-place effort at Wright State's Mike Baumer XC Classic. Ohio State took first place.

Sam Duncan led the Flyers with a second-place finish. He covered the 5,000 meter course in 15:02.3. Also scoring for Dayton were senior Andrew Shuster (14th, 15:25.3), junior

Calan Gizelbach (21st, 15:29.7) and junior
Adam Jones (25th, 15:32.3).
UD is back in action on Friday, Sept. 16 at the 8K All-Ohio Championships in Cedarville.
