Huber's Two Tallies Propel Flyers to 4-1 Win Over George Washington

The Fifth-Year Registered Her Second Two-Goal Game Of The Season

WASHINGTON D.C. – Fifth-year Laney Huber tallied two second-half goals to lead the University of Dayton women's soccer team to a convincing 4-1 road Atlantic 10 win over George Washington Sunday, Oct 1 from the GW Soccer Field.
 
KEY MOMENTS
After a scoreless first half, the Flyers (8-1-5, 2-0-3 A-10) struck quickly thanks to Huber's first goal of the match. The fifth-year connected on her fourth goal of the season on a feed from fellow super senior Alicia Donley.
 
Midway through the second half, Donley found the back of the goal for her second on the season on an assist from Ella Raimondi.
 
GW struck back for a goal just 15 seconds later, but Dayton put the match out of reach with its third goal of the match and second from Huber in the 86th minute.
 
Senior Diana Benigno put the finishing touches on the afternoon, scoring her second goal in as many weeks in the 90th minute.
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
The four-goal performance from the Flyers is the fourth time this season UD has scored four-or-more goals in a game.
 
It was the second time this season Dayton has scored four goals in a half (2nd half vs. Loyola Maryland)
 
Huber's two-goal performance was the second time this season the fifth-year has scored two goals in a game (vs. Wright State).

It was also the fourth time this season a Dayton student-athlete scored multiple goals in a game.
 
33 total shots for UD is the highest for the 2023 campaign.
