DAYTON - The University of Dayton men's soccer team defeated the University of Massachusetts 3-1 on Senior Night at Baujan Field.
The Flyers (6-6-5, 3-1-4 A-10) finished the regular season on a high note while the Minutemen (7-5-5, 4-3-1 A-10) enter the tournament with the loss.
SCORING BREAKDOWN

Sidike Jabateh opened the scoring early on in the second half with his strike off the feed from sophomore
Joseph Melto Quiah.
48:36 – Just 27 seconds later, Melto Quiah picked up his second assist with the pass to senior
Kenji Mboma Dem for his first goal of the game.
84:53 – UMass got a goal back in the 85
th minute as the visitors looked to fight their way back.
89:34 – With just a few seconds remaining in the contest, Mboma Dem recorded the brace and sealed the victory for the Flyers.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Flyers out-shot the Minutemen 24-9 in the game and put 11 on target to UMass' three.
- Dayton was led by Mboma Dem and Jabateh, who both had seven shots each, while four other players had two shots.
- Senior goalkeeper Dario Caetano was recognized before the game, alongside fellow senior Logan Brown, and recorded two saves in the effort.
- There were two cautions in the game, one for each team.
COACH'S COMMENTS
"It's always tough to leave it down to the last game," said head coach
Dennis Currier. "I thought the guys responded great, especially on senior night. It's a great sendoff for the guys that spent so much time here with the program. UMass is a gritty team and I knew we were going to have to be on our best game. I though the second half was phenomenal tonight and we got the win."
