MOREHEAD, Ky. – The University of Dayton football team lost on the road Saturday, 31-7 at Morehead State.  Two red-zone turnovers by UD gave Morehead momentum, and the Eagles took full advantage scoring the last 24 points of the contest.
GAME RECAP
1st Quarter – Dayton 7, Morehead State 7
•   Morehead got on the board first, scoring on a 53-yards catch-and-run with 9:06 to go in the quarter.
•   UD answered with an 11-play, 71-yard drive that ended on a
Luke Hansen six-yard run with 48 seconds remaining.
•   The Flyers got a short field when Nicholas Griever forced and
Luke Mitchell recovered a fumble on the kickoff. Â
•   Dayton outgained Morehead State 100 to 96 in the quarter.
2nd Quarter – Morehead State 14, Dayton 7
•   UD continued the drive that began with the fumbled kickoff, but a fumble at the four-yard line kept Dayton off the board.
•   The Eagles regained the lead with a 10-play, 65-yard drive with a score TD with 4:08 left in the half.
•   UD responded with a 10-play, 70-yard drive that ended with a first-and-goal-from-the-five interception in the end zone with 22 seconds to go.
•   All three Dayton possessions in the half ended inside the MSU 35-yard line, with two ending in turnovers at the five.
•   Morehead had the advantage in total yards at halftime, 209 to 197.
•   The Flyers had the ball 20:24 of the game's first 30 minutes.
3rd Quarter – Morehead State 24, Dayton 7
•   MSU drove 50 yards for a touchdown on its first possession of the quarter and 30 yards for a 25-yard field goal  for the only points of the quarter.
•   The Eagles out-gained the Flyers 120 to 34 in the quarter.
4th Quarter – Morehead State 31, Dayton 7
•   A Dayton fumble on the first play of the fourth quarter gave Morehead State the ball at the Flyer 37.  It took nine plays but the Eagles punched it in to make it a 24-point game.
•   Two of Dayton's last three drives ended on interceptions in MSU territory.
•   The Flyers outgained the Eagles 91-56 in the quarter.
BY THE NUMBERS
•   Morehead State had the advantage in total offense 385 to 322.
•   Dayton had 203 yards rushing, compared to 94 for Morehead.
•   MSU had 291 yards passing (15.3 yards per completion), UD had 119 (7.4).

Michael Neel carried the ball 18 times for a game-high 68 yards. Â
•   Quarterbacks
Cole Dow (9 times for 50 yards, 5.6 avg,)- and
Dante Casciola (6 for 43, 7.2) were next.
•   Casciola was 12 of 19 passing for 78 yards and one interception.

Joey Swanson,
Luke Brenner and Neel each caught three passes, and
Dominic Vrbancic's 35 yards receiving (on two receptions) led the team.

Cole Hildebrand,
Matt Lenti and
Nathan Arthur each had eight tackles to lead the Flyers.
•   Hildebrand's six solo hits were a game high.
•   Included in
Ca'ron Coleman's five hits were 1.5 TFL.

Logan Miller had his second interception of the season.

Gavin Lochow averaged 24.0 yards on four kickoff returns.
•   Dayton lost the turnover battle 5-2.  The Flyers have turned the ball over 15 times in PFL play.
•   UD is now 2-4 on the season, and 0-3 in the PFL.  Morehead improves to 2-3, and 1-2.
