DAYTON - The 20th-ranked University of Dayton volleyball team extended its winning streak to 13 Saturday with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-14) win over George Mason at Frericks Center. Sophomore outside hitter
Taylor Russell led all attackers in the match with 12 kills while swinging at a .400 clip.
Dayton's record improves to 18-2 on the season and 7-0 in Atlantic 10 matchups while George Mason is now 6-13 overall and 2-5 in league games.
KEY STATS
28 - junior setter
Alyssa Miller set 28 assists, got under seven digs, collected three blocks and put down two kills
15 - sophomore libero
Karissa Kaminski passed a match-high 15 digs and also tallied three assists
12 - Russell recorded a match-high 12 kills
8 - junior outside hitter
Lexie Almodovar was second on the team with eight kills and also had five digs and four aces
George Mason - the Patriots were led by Nani Spaar with nine kills and Gracie Halley with 11 digs
UP NEXT
Dayton will hit the road next week for two Atlantic 10 matches at Davidson. The Flyers and Wildcats are scheduled for a 7 p.m. match Friday, Oct. 13 followed by a 2 p.m. tilt on Saturday, Oct. 14. Both matches will be played at Davidson's Belk Arena and admission is free.
