DAYTON - The 18th-ranked University of Dayton volleyball team claimed the program's 16th Atlantic 10 Conference regular season title with its 3-0 (25-21, 25-20, 26-24) win over VCU Friday night in Frericks Center. Junior
Lexie Almodovar (18) and senior
Amelia Moore (13) combined for the 31 of the team's 48 kills in the win over the Rams.
Dayton extends it winning streak to 23, equaling the program's second-longest streak (2010), and is now 28-2 on the season and 17-0 in league matches. VCU, currently in third place in A-10 standings, moves to 16-11 overall and 13-4 in conference games.

18 & 13 - Almodovar recorded her ninth double-double of the season with a match-high 18 kills and 13 digs; she also served up the team's three aces in the match
18 - sophomore
Karissa Kaminski led all passers with a match-high 18 digs
13 - Moore tallied a season-high 13 kills, her fifth double-digit kill performance of the season
12 - freshman
Gaby Arroyo was one off her career high with 12 digs for the Flyers
11 - as a team, the Flyers tallied 11 total blocks, led by Moore with six (1-5) and junior
Alayna Yates with five
VCU - the Rams were led by Kialah Jefferson who was one off the double-double with nine kills and 13 digs
UP NEXT
Dayton will close out its 2023 regular season schedule tomorrow afternoon with a 1 p.m. matchup against VCU at Frericks Center. Six departing Flyer team members will be recognized prior to the match. Admission is free.
