SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The University of Dayton track and field earned several all-time marks and PRs at the Wittenberg Tiger Invitational on Saturday. The meet was highlighted by
Lauren Santiago's school-record time for the 300m dash, while three of her teammates also landed in the top-five all-time for the same event. This was the last meet of 2023, and it served as a way to gain experience and set expectations for their 2024 indoor season.
Highlights
- Santiago earned first place and set the school record in the 300m dash with her 40.78 second time.
- Rayana Burns, Sydney Workman, and Kendall Johnson all landed in the top-five all-time for the 300m dash, along with Santiago.
- Jayla Pruitt finished in first place in the long jump with her 5.52m jump. She also earned third place all time in the Dayton record books.
- Tamia Hameed took third place in her first collegiate 60m dash with her PR time of 7.77 seconds.
- Camryn Thompson finished in third place in her first collegiate high jump event with a mark of 1.60m.
- The 4x200 relay teams (Dayton "A" & Dayton "B") set the best and second-best times in school history.
- The 4x400 relay teams (Dayton "A" & Dayton "B") finished in first and second place out of 10 competing teams.
- The Flyers set 12 PRs, seven top-five all-time marks, two school records, and 13 top-three event finishes.
