KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Senior
Marcos Pujols hit his first home run of the season and the University of Dayton baseball team jumped ahead early, but No. 3-ranked Tennessee bounced back and slugged its way to a 12-2 victory Friday night at Lindsey Nelson Field.Â
The FlyBoys got on top early when Pujols slugged his home run off the right field scoreboard. Tennessee struck back in the bottom of the first inning with a pair of their own, then added runs in three consecutive innings to take control of the game.
Pujols finished the game 2-for-2, adding a single in his second at-bat while also being hit by a pitch. Freshman
Eddie Yamin IV notched his first career hit with a double in the second, and senior
Keagan Calero and graduate student
Jay Curtis added base hits.
