KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Dayton baseball team was shut out in the finale of its three-game series with the No. 3-ranked University of Tennessee Sunday, Feb. 26, falling 6-0 to the Volunteers from Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
After a first-inning home run, Tennessee's biggest offensive frame came in the second when it scored four runs on three hits and a Dayton error to jump ahead 5-0. The FlyBoys' bullpen provided the offense a chance to catch up, allowing just one run over the final six Volunteer innings, but Tennessee's pitching proved too strong.
