MIAMISBURG, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's tennis team cruised past Northern Kentucky University in the final home match of the 2023 campaign Wednesday morning, sweeping the Norse 7-0 at the South Regency Tennis Center.Â
Seniors
Connor Bruce and
Matt DeMarco made quick work of their opponents at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, winning 6-0, 6-1 and 7-5, 6-4, respectively.
Eric Perkowski also won in straight sets at No. 5, 6-2, 6-3. The other singles wins came at No. 3 from
Davis Phillips (6-0, 2-6, 6-2), No. 4
Ronit Hiryur (7-5, 4-6, 10-6), and No. 6
Erik Eliasson (6-2, 2-6, 6-4).
Dayton also dominated doubles, winning No. 1 with the duo of Bruce and DeMarco, 6-3, and No. 3 with
Max DeCurtins and Phillips winning by the same score.
Georgi Mavrodiev and Perkowski were leading 5-2 when the match moved to singles.
