PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The University of Dayton men's tennis team picked up an Atlantic 10 victory over Saint Joseph's Sunday, March 19, taking down Saint Joseph's 4-1 at the Alpha Tennis & Fitness Center.
The Flyers jumped ahead right away securing the doubles point. Seniors
Connor Bruce and
Matt DeMarco rolled to a 6-0 victory at No. 1, while
Eric Perkowski and
Ronit Hiryur teamed up to win at No. 3 singles to win 6-2. The second pairing of
Max DeCurtins and
Davis Phillips was leading 5-3 when the match turned to singles.
The singles portion of the match was a tight one, with DeMarco securing a win at No. 2 (5-7, 6-0, 6-2) and Perkowski at No. 5 (6-2, 3-6, 6-0). Junior
Erik Eliasson pulled off the victory at No. 6.
