WASHINGTON D.C. - Senior
Marcos Pujols slugged a home run, but the University of Dayton baseball team fell 7-4 in its series opener against Georgetown Friday afternoon at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy.
Pujols's homer makes him just the fifth Flyer all-time to have 30 career home runs and was his third of the 2023 campaign.
The FlyBoys jumped ahead early with single runs in the third and fourth innings, but the Hoyas struck back with a five-run fourth to take a commanding lead. UD chipped away with single runs in the fifth and sixth, but Georgetown retaliated with two runs of their own in the sixth and seventh innings to hold off the Flyers.
