Pedanou Goes Yard, But #FlyBoys Tripped Up By Georgetown

Penanou's 1st Career Homer Not Enough To Lift UD To Victory

WASHINGTON D.C. - Sophomore David Pedanou hit his first collegiate home run, but the University of Dayton baseball team could not muster any more offense, falling to Georgetown in a nail-biter, 3-2, Saturday afternoon at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy.

Pedanou, who had just three at-bats coming into the game, launched a second-inning, two-run home run to put the Flyers ahead. Georgetown struck back with a two-run shot of their own in the fifth to knot things up. The UD bullpen escaped multiple jams, but unfortunately, the Hoyas were able to scratch across a run on a bases-loaded fielder's choice in the seventh inning to take the lead.

BY THE NUMBERS
6 - strikeouts for FlyBoy starter Eli Majick, who pitched 5.1 innings and scattered seven hits
4 - times reaching base for Keagan Calero (two hits, two walks)
2 - scoreless innings thrown by Anthony Hattrup in relief

UP NEXT
The Flyers wrap their series with Georgetown Sunday, March 25, with first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m. at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy.
