#FlyBoys Fall to Eastern Kentucky 14-8

Paxton Tomaini Hit His Fourth Home Run Of The Season

DAYTON - The University of Dayton baseball team could not keep up with the powerful Eastern Kentucky lineup Wednesday, March 29, falling 14-8 to the Colonels at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

EKU jumped ahead to a double-digit lead after five innings of play before the FlyBoys started to chip away. With a man aboard in the sixth inning, Paxton Tomaini sent his fourth home run of the season to the opposite field beyond the right-center field wall.

Dayton added three runs in the seventh and single runs in the eighth in ninth innings, but the Colonels' lead proved too much in the end.

3.1 - innings thrown by freshman Matthew Johnson, a new career-high
3 - RBI for Tomaini, who drew a bases-loaded walk in addition to his two-run homer
2 - runs scored by freshman Mason Dobie, a new career-best
