DAYTON - The University of Dayton baseball team lost a slugfest to George Washington University to begin Atlantic 10 play Friday, March 31, falling 11-8 at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.
Game Two of the series has been pushed up to an 11 a.m. start time due to impending weather in the Dayton area.
The #FlyBoys and Colonials each slugged four home runs in the contest, but all of UD's were solo shots. Junior
Paxton Tomaini surged to the team lead in homers with his second two-home run game of the season, giving him six total, while
Matt Maloney hit one andÂ
Keagan Calero slugged his first of the campaign.
UD finished with 11 hits in total with Maloney leading the way with three. Tomaini and Calero were the only other Flyers to have multiple hits in the contest, but seven total Dayton batters collected hits.
After trailing 9-3 after five innings, the Flyers pieced together five runs over the next three frames to inch within striking distance. Unfortunately for the home team, however, they'd get no closer than three runs in the end.

4 - solo home runs by the Flyers
