DAYTON - Reigning Atlantic 10 Freshman of the Week
Eddie Yamin IV smacked a two-out, two-run double to lift the University of Dayton baseball team to a 7-5 victory over the University of Miami at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium Wednesday, March 8.
The RedHawks had just gotten to the Dayton bullpen in the top of the eighth to tie the score at 5-5 when the #FlyBoy offense went to work. Senior
Ben Jones led off with a walk and went first-to-third on a single by fellow senior
Marcos Pujols. With
David Pedanou pinch-running for Pujols and on the move with the pitch, Yamin laced a double to left-center field to give UD the 7-5 lead.
Reliever
Parker Bard bridged the gap from the starter to the back end of the bullpen with five strong innings of work. The junior tossed five frames of one-hit ball, striking out eight and only walking one. Junior
Nick Wissman picked up the win while
Matthew Johnson registered his first save.
