Flyers Lose Late Lead to Buckeyes, Fall 8-7

Keagan Calero Hit His Second Home Run Of The Season

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The University of Dayton baseball team gave up a late lead to Ohio State University Wednesday, April 19, falling 8-7 at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium.

The Flyers held a 6-2 lead going to the bottom of the seventh inning. UD responded to a two-run inning from the Buckeyes with a run of their own to take a 7-4 lead to the eighth, but the bottom of the frame led to problems.

OSU plated four runs courtesy of six walks and just one hit to take an 8-7 lead and sweep the season series.

Senior Keagan Calero rocked his second home run of the season, a solo shot, while fellow senior Nolan Watson continued his hot hitting at the plate, going 3-for-5 with two runs batted in.
