Softball Splits With George Mason Saturday At UD Softball Stadium

Erschen Singled in Game-Winning Runs Bottom Seven of Game One

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team split its Atlantic 10 doubleheader against George Washington Saturday at UD Softball Stadium. Dayton claimed an 8-7 win in come-from-behind fashion in game one while George Mason used an eight-run fifth in game two to pick up a win in the nightcap.

Dayton is now 29-14 overall and 13-3 in A-10 games as George Mason moves to 28-16 on the season and 14-5 in league action.

GAME ONE

11 - freshman Izzy Kemp tallied 11 strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work, her fourth game this season with double-digit Ks
3 - junior Taylor Erschen was 3-for-4 at the plate, including the game-winning single that plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh
3 - sophomore Emma Schutter collected three RBI, her second three-RBI game of the year
HR - graduate student Alyssa Cacini was one of six players in the game that knocked out a home run, her team-leading seventh of the season

2 - senior Nicolette Papavasiliou was 2-for-3 with two RBI
2 - Erschen also recorded two hits in the game
SB - Schutter (27) and senior Emily Daniel (24) each tallied a stolen base
