DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team split its Atlantic 10 doubleheader against George Washington Saturday at UD Softball Stadium. Dayton claimed an 8-7 win in come-from-behind fashion in game one while George Mason used an eight-run fifth in game two to pick up a win in the nightcap.
Dayton is now 29-14 overall and 13-3 in A-10 games as George Mason moves to 28-16 on the season and 14-5 in league action.
GAME ONE
Dayton 8, George Mason 7

Izzy Kemp tallied 11 strikeouts in 6.0 innings of work, her fourth game this season with double-digit Ks
3 - junior
Taylor Erschen was 3-for-4 at the plate, including the game-winning single that plated two runs in the bottom of the seventh
3 - sophomore
Emma Schutter collected three RBI, her second three-RBI game of the year
HR - graduate student
Alyssa Cacini was one of six players in the game that knocked out a home run, her team-leading seventh of the season

Nicolette Papavasiliou was 2-for-3 with two RBI

UP NEXT
Dayton and George Mason will close out the weekend with a single game one Sunday. Prior to the series finale, Dayton's four departing team members will be recognized for Senior Day at approximately 11:30 a.m. First pitch is slated for 12:02 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free.
