DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton baseball team fell to the University of Toledo after a back-and-forth affair on Tuesday, April 25, falling 9-3 at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.
Toledo scored one run in each of the first three innings while the Flyers put up three runs in the second frame behind RBI singles from
Ben Jones and
Matt Maloney, as well as a sacrifice fly from
Paxton Tomaini.
The game stayed tied at 3-3 until the top of the eighth inning. Toledo then put up six runs over the next two frames to give them a 9-3 run lead heading into the bottom of the ninth.
Sophomore
Mason Dobie recorded his first career multi-double game. Finishing the game 2-3 with two doubles. He was the only Flyer with multiple hits today.Â
