DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will close out the home portion of its 2023 schedule Wednesday with a doubleheader against Morehead State. The Flyers and Eagles will get underway at 2 p.m. April 26 at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free. Both games will be available to follow via live stats at

SCOUTING MOREHEAD STATE
Morehead State (11-24, 6-12 OVC) is currently suffering through a seven-game losing streak capped off by three conference losses at Eastern Illinois this past weekend. The Eagles' offense is paced by Emily Williams with a .344 average, 32 RBI, 20 walks and 10 home runs while Peyton Jordan (.321) has tallied a team-best 35 hits. Jessie Begley (4-6) carries the team's low ERA of 3.80 while Madi Ogden (4-9) has collected 55 strikeouts and worked five complete games.

Alyssa Cacini leads the team and ranks fifth in the conference with 30 RBI on the season. For her career, Cacini has knocked in a total of 122 runs which currently ranks fourth all-time in program history. Former Flyer Abby Ehrenborg holds the all-time record with 134 career RBI.

Three Flyer pitchers have combined for nine saves on the season and the Dayton pitching squad is just one save away from tying the single-season school record of 10.

Emma Schutter have moved into Dayton's top 10 all-time stolen bases list this season. Schutter is now tied for second place all-time with 50 career stolen bases while Daniel, who spent her freshman season (2020) at Wright State, is in third place with 49 career stolen bases for the Flyers. Molly Meyer (2007-10) holds the program record with 66.
