RICHMOND, Va. -Â The University of Dayton baseball team rolled to a convincing 15-4 victory over No. 2 seed Davidson to stay alive in the Atlantic 10 Tournament Thursday afternoon at The Diamond.
The #FlyBoys play tonight, Thursday, May 25, at 7 p.m. against the winner of No. 1 Saint Joseph's and No. 5 Richmond.
UD jumped in front thanks to a six-run first inning, highlighted by junior
Paxton Tomaini's grand slam. It was the fifth grand slam of the season for the Flyers and the second of the year for Tomaini.
Dayton would go on to hit four home runs on the day, with
Marcos Pujols smacking his 15th of the season, and junior
Carlos Castillo hitting two, the first multi-homer game of his Flyer career.
Junior starter
Eli Majick held one of the A-10's top offenses in check, allowing just one run in six innings of work, scattering six hits and striking out five.Â
Castillo's three-hit day led the Flyers, while four others registered multi-hit performances (Calero, Pujols, Watson and Tomaini).
