COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's soccer team kicked-off the 2023 season on Thursday at the Ohio State Wolstein Classic against UC Davis, suffering a 2-0 defeat.
The Flyers (0-1) start off the year on a negative note while the Aggies (1-0) earn their first win.
KEY MOMENT
- 42nd minute - UD outshot UC Davis in the first half and were hanging with the Aggies, but a PK in the 42nd minute doubled their lead and put the Flyers in a tough whole going into the second half.

- 31:22 – UC Davis took the initial lead in the 32nd minute with a goal from Cason Goodman off the assist from Ryan Dieter.
- 41:28 – The Aggies doubled their advantage in the 42nd minute on a converted penalty by Keegan Walwyn-Bent.

COACH'S COMMENTS
"Overall, it was a disappointing start to the season," said head coach
Dennis Currier. "We generated enough chances to get back in the game, but lacked the proper accuracy to convert. We have a good opportunity on Sunday though to improve and put this loss behind us."
