Women's Soccer Zaps the Zips, 5-2

Dayton Scored Five Unanswered Goals, Led By Noel Blain

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's soccer team picked up its fourth win of the season with a 5-2 victory over the University of Akron behind a pair of goals by junior Noel Blain Thursday night at FirstEnergy Stadium.
 
Key Moments
The Flyers (4-0-1) fell behind early, allowing a pair of goals in the first six minutes of the game, but rallied back with five unanswered goals to pick up the road win at Akron (1-3-0).
 
Blain found the back of the net for the first time on the evening when Laney Huber set the junior up for a header to put the Flyers on the board.
 
Dayton's second goal came in the closing moments of the first half, evening the score when Marlee Taylor knocked home a feed from fellow fifth-year Alicia Donley.
 
The Flyers wasted little time in the second half to take the lead, scoring in the 58th minute when Karli Ferguson found the back of the net.
 
Just four minutes later Blain netted her second goal of the night and third of the season off Madison Wilson's second assist of the contest.
 
UD closed the scoring with a tally in the 71st minute when Donley converted a header on a corner kick from Mary Dziuba.

Blair posted five points on the night thanks to her two goals and an assist, setting a new career-high.
 
Donley registered three points on the night (2 goals, 1 assist) after missing the previous two games.
 
The Flyers registered 15 shots on goal on the night, the season's highest total.
