CHICAGO - The 23rd-ranked University of Dayton volleyball team opened Atlantic 10 Conference play with a 3-1 (25-15, 21-25, 25-18, 25-23) win at defending league champion Loyola Chicago. The victory extends the team's winning streak to seven.
Dayton improves to 12-2 on the season and 1-0 in A-10 action while Loyola moves to 2-10 overall and 0-1 in league action.
KEY STATS
42 & 12 - junior setter
Alyssa Miller recorded her fifth double-double of the season with a match-high 42 assists to go with 12 digs
19 & 12 - junior outside hitter
Lexie Almodovar also posted her fifth double-double of the season with a match-high 19 kills and 12 digs
12 - sophomore outside hitter
Taylor Russell was the second Flyer in double-digit kills with 12
8 - senior
Amelia Moore was one off her season high with eight blocks; she also tallied nine kills, four digs and three aces
6 - the Flyers and Ramblers were even from the service line with six aces apiece
Loyola - Addie Barnes led the Ramblers with 16 kills and Bree Borum tallied the 31-assist, 12-dig double-double

Dayton and Loyola will play the second of two conference matches this weekend tomorrow. First serve between the Flyers and the Ramblers on Saturday is set for 1:30 p.m. ET at LUC's Gentile Arena.
