Men’s Cross Country Took 22nd Place At University Of Louisville

Conley Earned The Second-Best 8K Time In School History

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Dayton men's cross country team took 22nd place out of 39 teams on Saturday morning. The Flyers were led by Bryce Conley for the third meet in a row, while Conley came away with a PR and a 26th-place finish.

Conley set the second-best 8K time in UD history with his 24:13.2 finish. This is a seven-second improvement on his previous 8K PR, and he is now eight seconds away from tying the school record. Calan Gizelbach finished behind Conley with his 105th-place time of 25:06.2. Gizelbach was followed by Owen Pukys (125th – 25:15.0) and Adam Jones (141st – 25:21.3).

"I think we learned that we need to be more aware of how to manage ourselves whether that be large races, small races, races that are tactical or races that get out," shared Head Coach David Dobson. "Gaining that awareness is critical for this team and it's the next step of development."

On Friday, October 13, the Flyers will head to Peoria, Ill. to compete in the Bradley Pink Invitational. This will be a tune-up meet for the Flyers that qualify for the A-10 Championships.
