LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Dayton women's cross country team took 19th place at the Live In Lou this morning. The Flyers competed against 36 teams from across the country in one of the nation's biggest cross country meets.
Abby Carter finished in 31st place in the 5K with a time of 17:42.5. This is the third meet in a row for Carter where she was the top finisher for the women's team.
Cara Mooney was the Flyers' top rookie finisher as she took 95th with a 5K time of 18:22.4.
Zoe Chappelle finished shortly behind Mooney by finishing in 98th with her 18:24.7 time.
"I think we learned that we need to be more aware of how to manage ourselves whether that be large races, small races, races that are tactical or races that get out," shared Head Coach
David Dobson. "Gaining that awareness is critical for this team and it's the next step of development."
The Flyers will compete at the Bradley Pink Invitational on Friday, October 13. The women will be competing in their first 6K of the 2023 season.
