Andrew Wilcox Earns Second A-10 Rookie of the Week Nod

The Freshman Set a 61-second PR to Win the Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. -The Atlantic 10 Conference recognized University of Dayton freshman Andrew Wilcox as Rookie of the Week after his strong outing this past weekend at the Bradley Pink Classic in Peoria, Illinois, hosted by Bradley University.

Last Friday, Wilcox was the first Flyer and 86th overall runner across the finish line in Peoria with a time of 24:52 and an average mile split of 5:00. Wilcox's time was a 61-second PR for the freshman from Monroe, Ohio in only his second-ever collegiate 8k. This marks the second time this season that the first-year Flyer has earned Rookie of the Week honors as he also claimed the award following his 5k debut at the Mike Baumer Classic, hosted by Wright State, a race in which he was the 4th collegiate finisher.

The Flyers return to action on Saturday, November 2, at the A-10 Championships in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
