KETTERING, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's golf team turned in a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Flyer Invitational, led by sophomore Breckin Taylor who posted his first-career top-five outing. The annual two-day event was contested at the Flyers' home course, NCR Country Club, on the South Course at par 71 and 7,000 yards Oct. 21-22.

Kent State claimed the team trophy with a three-round score of 287-281-299=867 (+15) while the Golden Flases' Jordan Gilkison earned medalist honors with his score of 70-71-69=210 (-3). Dayton finished in fourth place in team standings with a score of 295-287-294=876 (+24).

KEY STATS
3.13 - as a team, Dayton tied Maimi (Ohio) for the lowest average score on par-three holes at 3.13
2.92 - junior Victor Caliguri averaged 2.92 on par-lead holes to lead the team and was tied for second among the field of 79
42 - collectively, the Flyers' five-man team carded 42 birdies for the event, second-most among the field of 12
12 - with 12 birdies over 54 holes, Taylor ranked second among the field
🦅 - senior Colin O'Rourke carded an eagle on the par-four 11th hole during the final round

They were faced with a lot of adversity and handled the majority of it extremely well. This was a great field and for us to play our home event with the great condition our course was in was really awesome to see! Especially proud of Breckin with his best finish ever and shooting under par for the event."
