DAYTON – The No. 19-ranked Dayton volleyball closes out its regular season home schedule with a pair of matches against Davidson this weekend in the friendly confines of the Frericks Center.
The Flyers and Wildcats play at 7 p.m. on Friday and will play again at 2 p.m. on Saturday, with the match Saturday being broadcast on ESPN+.

Closing in on 400
Dayton head coach
Tim Horsmon, now in his 16th season as UD's coach (2003-08; 2014-Present), needs just one win to reach 400 in his career as a Flyer.

Horsmon, who is already the all-time winningest Dayton coach, has a 399-108 record while at the helm of the Flyers for an all-time winning percentage of .787. For his total 25-year career, Horsmon has a 575-272 record.

Dayton is celebrating seven seniors prior to their match on Saturday afternoon. Fifth-years

Alayna Yates, as well as fourth-years
Alyssa Miller,

Alia Williams will all be honored before the regular season finale.

Another Weekly Winner
Redshirt senior outside hitter
Lexie Almodovar earned her third Atlantic 10 Player of the Week honor of the season this week after averaging 6.00 kills/set and a NCAA-leading 7.55 points/set.

The Flyers have now won seven weekly honors from the Atlantic 10 this season, as junior
Liana Sarkissian won her first career Player of the Week honor on Sept. 16, and redshirt senior
Lexie Almodovar added her first POW of the season a week later on Sept. 23.
Brooke Smith won the honor on Oct. 8, and Almodovar notched her second of the season on Oct. 21. Senior setter
Alyssa Miller also brought home the award on Oct. 28.

Karissa Kaminski earned the Flyers' first Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season on Sept. 30.

RPI Rankings Â
Dayton sits at No. 15 once again in the NCAA's most recent RPI Ranking.

The Flyers' non-conference slate included Top 50 matches against Marquette (21), Illinois (29), Wright State (37) and UNI (48), as well as Top 100 opponents FGCU (56), USF (63), Western Kentucky (65), and Bowling Green (74). While VCU (92), Loyola Chicago (105), George Washington (130) and Davidson (179) round out the rankings in the A-10.

UD in the AVCA Polls - Staying Strong at No. 19
The Flyers have been ranked in every American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll of the 2024 season, coming in at No. 19 in the most recent rankings. Dayton was also No. 19 last poll after spending time at No. 20, 21, 22 and No. 24 in the other weeks.

UD has been ranked in the AVCA Weekly Poll for 23 consecutive weeks dating back to the 2023 campaign. This tops the program record set in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons when the Flyers went 21 straight weeks in the Top 25.

Dayton has won 34 consecutive regular-season Atlantic 10 matches dating back to the 2022 campaign after starting the 2024 conference campaign with sweeps over Rhode Island, VCU, Loyola Chicago, George Washington, Fordham and George Mason, and winning both midweek matches with Duquesne.

Scouting Davidson
Davidson has an overall record of 13-12 and 9-5 mark in the A-10. The Wildcats currently sit a game ahead of George Washington for the No. 4 spot in the Atlantic 10 standings.

DC leads the A-10 and ranks 10th nationally in assists/set at 13.20, thanks in large part to the 6-2 setter tandem of Xuan Nguyen (5.62 ast/set) and Kinsey Smith (5.75 ast/set).
