Clark Announces 2025 Softball Schedule

Flyers to Kick Off Season at Wofford’s Terrier Invite Feb. 7-9

DAYTON – University of Dayton softball head coach Cara Clark has announced the Flyers' 2025 schedule. The team is set to open the year in South Carolina at Wofford's Terrier Invite Feb. 7-9 and will close out the regular-season slate at home against Atlantic 10 foe George Mason May 3-4. Coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history, Dayton hopes to build on that momentum and earn a return trip to the NCAA DI Softball Championship.

"We are excited to unveil our 2025 schedule," Clark commented. "Our pursuit of a championship-worthy season will be shaped by how we handle adversity and the challenge posed by all the quality opponents we will face. This team is ready to meet the moment."

On opening weekend, Dayton will play a total of five games at the Terrier Invite in Spartanburg, S.C., against Youngstown State, Towson and host Wofford Feb. 7-9. Up next will be the I-75 Challenge jointly hosted by Georgia State, Georgia Tech and Kennesaw State Feb. 21-23 in the Atlanta area. Dayton will play two games at Georgia State, at single game against Memphis at Kennesaw State and two games at Georgia Tech.

Feb. 28 through March 2, UD will take part in Eastern Kentucky's annual Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky. Dayton will matchup against Akron, UIC and host EKU for a total of five games at Gertrude Hood Field. The Flyers will open the home portion of their schedule March 5 when they welcome the Miami (Ohio) RedHawks to UD Softball Stadium. Dayton will follow that with a single neutral-site game against Texas at Ohio State's Buckeye Field on March 10.

After a midweek matchup against Stonehill College on March 12, Dayton will kick off the Atlantic 10 slate with a three-game home series against Saint Louis March 15-16. On the 18th, the Flyers will head down to Lexington to take on the Wildcats of Kentucky and will then be at Rhode Island March 22-23 for a three-game set. March wraps up with a Wednesday doubleheader at home against Butler on March 26 and a trip to the nation's capital for a conference series at George Washington March 29-30.

April will get underway with a three-game league series against Massachusetts at home April 5-6 followed by a six-game road swing with contests at Akron, St. Bonaventure and Loyola Chicago April 8-13. Ohio Sate will be at UD Softball Stadium for a single game on April 16 and Fordham will be in town April 18-19 for three games. The Flyers will be in Highland Heights for a single game at Northern Kentucky April 22 and they will close out April at Saint Joseph's on the 26th and 27th.

Dayton will play host to George Mason May 3-4 for the final regular-season conference series of the season. If the squad qualifies, UD will then go on to compete for its second-straight Atlantic 10 Championship title May 7-10, hosted this season by George Washington.

Clark is entering her 18th season as head coach of the Dayton Flyers. With 413 wins at the helm of the Flyers program, the 2024 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year is Dayton's all-time career wins leader. She has tallied a total of 544 victories over her 23-year head coaching career.
