WACO, Texas – The No. 23-ranked Dayton volleyball team takes on No. 16 Baylor in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. ET.
The match will be broadcast by veteran play-by-play man Kit McConnico with former Baylor Bear Hannah Sedwick as analyst on ESPN+.

Opening Round Recap
Almodovar Joins Elite Company
Lexie Almodovar became just the second Flyer to have multiple 20+ kills matches in the NCAA Tournament in her career, finishing UD's opening round match against South Carolina with 22.

Almodovar also had 21 in a 3-1 win over Marquette in the 2021 season. The only other #UDVB player to have multiple NCAA games of 20-or-more kills was All-American Alaina Turner, who had a program record 30 against American as well as a 24-kill performance in a win over Villanova.

Aces Wild
Thursday's 11-ace effort against South Carolina set a new program high for an NCAA Tournament match for Dayton, topping 10 aces in last season's win over Pepperdine.

Emily Young tied the UD postseason record for aces in a match with four against the Gamecocks.

Power Victory
Dayton's win over South Carolina marked the first victor over a "Power Four" opponent since defeating Michigan State in the Flyers' first appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2003.

The Flyers In The NCAA Tournament
UD has made the NCAA Tournament 18 times in its volleyball history, 13 of which have come under the guidance of head coach
Tim Horsmon. He was the head coach when the Flyers made the tournament for the first time in 2003.

After Thursday's four-set win over South Carolina, Dayton has made the second round of the NCAA Tournament 11 times. The Flyers have never advanced beyond the opening weekend of postseason, aiming for their first ever Sweet Sixteen berth.

Scouting Baylor
Baylor comes into Friday night's match with a record of 23-7 after a 14-4 Big XII campaign. The Bears are No. 16 in the AVCA Poll and have won five consecutive matches.
Elise McGhee leads Baylor's offense with 3.77 kills/set.
