WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The University of Dayton baseball team came up short against No. 1-ranked Wake Forest Saturday, 9-3, with freshman 
Ryan MacDougall highlighting the day with his second home of the season at Couch Ballpark.
 
MacDougall's second-inning homer came against one of college baseball's elite pitchers and projected first-round draft pick Chase Burns. It was the Taunton, Mass. Native's second round-tripper of the season.
 
Freshman reliever 
Connor Fennell shined out of the bullpen, striking out six in 3.2 innings of work.
 
Sophomore 
Ivan Arias had a two-hit performance, raising his batting average to .400 on the season. Sixth-year senior 
Nolan Watson finished the game 1-for-2 with a run scored and two walks.
