DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team scored a season-high 16 runs in their final game against South Dakota State Sunday afternoon, toppling the Jackrabbits 16-6 to win the four-game series at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.Â

SDSU struck first with a run in the second, but the FlyBoys answered with a four-run second inning powered by a three-run
Eddie Yamin IV long ball to give the Flyers a lead they'd never let go of.

After the teams traded runs in the third, Yamin struck again, this time with a two-run single to push UD's lead to 8-2. Yamin finished the day with a career-best five RBI.

Junior
Mason Dobie hit his first home run of the season to give the Flyers a 10-4 lead over the Jackrabbits in the fifth, and UD followed it up with a knockout blow in the seventh.

The first five batters of the inning reached, with senior
Carlos Castillo hitting an RBI double in the process. The big blow came from junior centerfielder
David Pedanou, who cleared the bases with a triple. When the dust settled the FlyBoys had jumped out to a 16-4 lead.

Eli Majick earned his second win of the season by throwing 3.2 innings and striking out six while limiting SDSU to just two hits. Senior
