CHARLESTON, Ill. – The University of Dayton baseball team saw its offense stymied by Eastern Illinois on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 to the Panthers at Coaches Stadium at Monier Field.

The FlyBoys were shut out for the first time this season, scattering four hits throughout the contest.
Freshman starter
Connor Fennell was the tough-luck loser in the game, striking out six and walking only one in five innings of work. Unfortunately, three of his four hits allowed came in the decisive fifth inning, including a grand slam.

Fellow freshman
Ayden Tran came in to toss the final three innings for the Flyers, striking out two in each inning for six total while allowing just two baserunners.
