DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team will Loyola Chicago to the Gem City for week three of conference action March 29-30. Dayton and Loyola will play a single game Friday at 4 p.m. followed by a doubleheader Saturday kicking off at 12 p.m. All games will be played at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free.

All three games of the Atlantic 10 series will be available to follow via live stats at Statbroadcast.com.

ABOUT DAYTON
Dayton (13-13, 3-3 A-10) played two tough mid-week matchups this week at Kentucky and Ohio State, falling to the Wildcats, 4-3, and the Buckeyes, 6-2. In the Flyers' last conference series, George Washington was able to take the 2-1 win with Dayton winning game one, 6-5. The Flyers' offense is lead by junior Maddie Kapsimalis (.346) with 27 hits, 20 RBI (t-4th A-10), 15 walks (7th A-10) and six doubles while three Flyers have recorded double-digit stolen bases led by graduate student Emily Daniel with 17 (1st A-10). In the circle, sophomore Izzy Kemp (7-5) carries the team's low ERA of 2.27 (1st A-10) and has tallied 78 strikeouts (2nd A-10).

SCOUTING LOYOLA CHICAGO
Loyola (14-15, 3-3 A-10) dropped a 7-4 decision at Northwestern Tuesday following a 2-1 series win over George Mason in the Ramblers' home opening weekend March 23-24. Offensively, Ava Bieneman (.330) leads the team with 32 hits (t-4th A-10) while Sydney Barnett (.325) has tallied 32 RBI (t-2nd A-10). Peyton Pepowski (7-8) leads the pitching corps with a 3.09 ERA and has collected 96 strikeouts (1st A-10) over 102.0 innings pitched.

SERIES STUFF
Loyola Chicago leads, 16-5.
The series between the Flyers and Ramblers dates back to 1985 when both were members of the North Star Conference and continued through both squads' time with the Midwestern Collegiate Conference. The conference rivalry was renewed last season as Loyola joined the A-10 ahead of the 2023 season. UD and LUC squared off four times last season, including the Ramblers' 7-1 win over the Flyers in the A-10 Championship.

RPI RANKINGS
In the NCAA's Rating Percentage Index (RPI) through games on March 27, Dayton came in at 154 according to NCAA.com. Loyola Chicago was ranked 165.
