DAYTON – The University of Dayton baseball team fell 12-2 to Fordham to open Atlantic 10 action on Friday, March 29th at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.Â

Fordham started hot with a three-run first inning, then went on to add runs in the third and fourth innings, while the FlyBoys struggled to break through until tallying a two-run seventh. Junior outfielder
David Pedanou smashed a leadoff triple and was then driven in by freshman
David Mendez.Â

The Rams struck back with a pair of runs in the top of the eighth inning, then put the finishing touches on the scoring in the ninth with a four-spot.

Dayton finished the night with nine hits, seven free passes (three walks, four hit-by-pitch) and 13 runners left on base.
