Dobie Delivers! #FlyBoys Walk-Off Rams, 6-5

Mason Dobie's 10th-Inning Homer Gave UD The Series Win

DAYTON – Junior Mason Dobie launched a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the University of Dayton baseball team a 6-5 victory over Fordham on Sunday afternoon at Woerner Field at AES Ohio Stadium.

Dobie's sixth home run of the season gave the FlyBoys the series victory over the Rams.

Pitching dominated the early part of the game, as UD scored the game's only run through the first six innings in the first. Dayton freshman Connor Fennell turned in a quality start, allowing just two runs on four hits in six innings of work, striking out a career-best nine along the way.

The Rams and Flyers traded two-run innings in the seventh and eighth, with a two-run home run by graduate student Nolan Watson and RBI base hits from junior David Pedanou and sophomore Eddie Yamin highlighting the action for Dayton.

Fordham plated a single run in the ninth inning to tie the game at 5-5, but senior reliever Nick Wissman kept the Rams off the board in the 10th to set up Dobie's heroics.
