DAYTON - University of Dayton men's cross country ran into the record books at the Raleigh Relays hosted by North Carolina State and performed well at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational hosted by the University of Cincinnati. On Thursday, Owen Pukys, Sam Duncan and Adam Jones all made history with three top ten all-time 5000m marks.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Owen Pukys personal best was the second fastest time in school history in the 5000m at the Raleigh Relays. The sophomore from Louisville, Ohio crossed the finish line at 14:23.16 and was just a second off of the school record.
- Sam Duncan ran 14:34.28 in the 5000m, which was also a personal best. The senior, from Lebanon, Ohio registered the sixth fastest time in the 5k at UD.
- Adam Jones also put his name in the record books on Thursday with an outdoor personal best 14:41.60. The senior, from Brecksville, Ohio is now ninth all-time for the fastest 5k time in Dayton history.
- Noah Clemens was the top finisher in the second heat of the 1,5000m at the Oliver Nikoloff Invitational. The sophomore finished ninth overall.
